Necron Wraith Conversion: The Canoptek Court of the Destroyer Lord!
Old School here with my take on Canoptek Wraiths. I wanted to go for a simple conversion, using parts that I could scavenge from bits that I otherwise would not be using. CVinton led the way with the Praetorian Jumpack head and spine idea, so I bit that idea and went my own way with it. Let's take a look at these wraiths.

Converting units that don't have models: Is it worth it?
Old School here to talk about converting missing models. While the photo above is just for fun, the topic I am referring to is taking time, money and talent to convert units games workshop has published in a new codex, but hasn't released a model for. The question is whether or not you think it is worth it and what you do about those units that are missing.

DFG Spotlight: An Interview with Thomas AKA Goatboy
Old School here with a new series called "DFG Spotlight" and the first interview of that series. The purpose of Spotlight is to interview a member of the blogosphere and get to know them as a total hobbyist. I personally like hearing how people got into the game, ect. I also think the internet has a way of turning typecasting people and if I can use the interview to delve into another part of the subject, then hopefully, it can be entertaining and even eye opening. So let's take a look at the origins of Goatboy and what keeps him going!
The only rule I set for myself is to keep the interview to 10 - 12 questions. So let's get to it ...

Liquid Green Stuff Failure: Learn From My Foolishness!
Old School here with a public service announcement: If you ever wondered if Liquid Green Stuff would work in a press mold, it doesn't. The horrible failure you see above is all me!

Easy, Effective and Cheap: Necron Destroyer Lord Conversion!
Old School here with a conversion I made from spare parts to become my Destroyer Lord. The destroyer body was a bit I grabbed out of a friend's bits box for free about two years ago and with all the great bits Necron players end up with after building their models, I wanted to build my lord on the cheap and with a unique look all his own.

A Salute to the Tervigon: A Gallery of Amazing Conversions!
Old School here with a salute to the Tervigons of the "Golden Age" - A time when there was no model for everyone's favorite New Nid. I tried to include as many Tervigons as I could, though for every one of the photos here, you could likely find ten more out there! With the new model here, we can rejoice as players and hobbyists, but at the same time, it ushers in the end of an era. Enjoy the pics and please if yours is featured, give us a shout out, so people can track back to your site, I do not have the time to link them all. If you have a conversion that isn't featured, leave a link in the comments so people can follow and check it out! This is for you, Big Momma!

Bits Trading Night Tonight, Bring Your Armies, Bring Your Bits!!
Old School here to drop a reminder that it is Bits Trading Night at Evolution Games in Lansing, MI tonight. The majority of business should start around 5-6pm and go throughout the night in addition to the usual gaming and painting that takes place at the store every Wednesday! There will be plenty of stuff there to pick through and I am sure that both cash and bitz (and whole models and maybe armies) will exchange hands tonight, so come on down and check it out.
I know most of the DFG crew will be there with copious amounts of 40k and even Fantasy stuff. All game systems are welcome and encouraged (looking at you Vogrin!). I for one will be bringing bits from Chaos Marines/ Daemons, bits and models for Space Marines, Bits for ogres, an Epic army and more. Hopefully, I can score some cool stuff while managing to not be talked out of some of my favorite stuff (I am a horder and I hate to see it go, lol), but all is fair in love and bits!

Battle Creek Valentine's Massacre 1500 Point Tourney Results
This last weekend, CVinton and I attended a great tournament held at Titan Games in Battle Creek, MI. Cvinton stood in as an assistant Judge, taking a little weight off of the TO, Mike, who threw a great tournament. Let's look at some photos from the event, discuss the armies that showed up and a look at the over all victors!

The 4th and 5th Foundations of Vengeance
I am a military history buff. I think it goes hand in hand with war games. In fact the whole reason I read Sun Tzu's “The Art of War” was not because everybody said I need to read it because its a great treatise on war and even business. Most people say they read it and quote it like Nietzsche, which they also only read snippets of just to appear deep and smart, and do not truly understand the work as a whole. I don't fully understand all the nuances, but I try to. I read it because General George S. Patton thought it would make an excellent field manual for the Army when he read it as a Colonel in 1919. I bring up Patton mostly because he is one of the Figures in the American Military I really admire and he personifies the Fourth Foundation Of Vengeance. Relentlessness.

St Valentine's Day Massacre Update!
Quick update: The start time of the tournament on Saturday 2/18/12 at Titan Games has been pushed back due to a change in store hours.
It will now begin at noon with registration opening at 11am.
Thankfully it was a move back and not a move forward so it's all Jakc.

Judgement Day Bitz Trading February 22 @ Evolution Games
Dark Future Games will host a bitz trading night at Evolution Games on Wednesday, February 22, 2012. This may be the last bitz trading night at Evolution Games, so we invite you to celebrate rather than mourn by bringing in your bitz, stuff you want to trade off or sell down to Evolution Games. We have held several of these trade nights in the past and they have traditionally drawn pretty good crowds and great selections of bitz.
Being the last bitz trading event, I would imagine some insane stuff will make its way there!

Hive Fleet Behemoth Hive Guard and Gants!
Old School here with an update on Hive Fleet Behemoth. This time I have a group of completed Hive Guard and Termagaunts. As the army has grown, I have really started to love how it all looks on the table. There is something to be said for Tyranids that have been feathered and placed on the field in numbers. They really give a strong impression of movement and with bright colors, are seen across the room. Let's take a look at the newest broods in my Hive fleet (click on the pics to make them larger).

Necron Thoughts from a New Player
For the first time I own three armies. I picked up a chunk of Necron's in a trade. After that I fleshed it out with some purchases and like almost everyone else on the interent, packed them up and offered the for sale. I told OST I offered them to Deathbringer but he would pick them up in a few weeks. Until then the were going to sit in the cabinet with all the other misfit toys.

The Third Foundation Of Vengeance: Misdirection
Before I get into the 3rd Foundation of Vengeance I would like to bring to the attention of the readership that the models referenced in this entry, mainly The Judges Space Marines, were actually stolen right out of his car. The only survivor was the Scout Sgt. My condolences to The Judge on his loss. This Foundation was a short one. Sometimes you can write a novel and sometimes its a chore to write even a Paragraph. I think its an important lesson though. Well enjoy, back to packing. My time as an Outcast has come to an end and I am moving back to Lansing at the end of the week. I will have some Bike council updates as I complete them for the Adepticon Team tournament.
Although I did not get the game in I wanted on Wednesday I did get a game in. I teamed up with The Judge in a team game Vs Seven and a FLGS regular, and fellow car guy, Tony. Seven was using his Craftworlders and Tony was venturing into his new army acquisition, Grey Knights. I was using the Webway List I came up with witch I am proud to say includes no death stars and no special named characters. The Judge brought the heat with some of my old nemesis, Chaplin Stonewall, Brother Overkill and Sgt Bad ass and the Sunshine Kids.

And so it begins.... Lord Solar Whips his Nobz Back and Forth!
Over the past few weeks the DFG crew as well as other local gamers have been heading up to our FLGS and painting and assembling our armies on Wednesday nights. The result of this has been a big inspiration for myself to get to work on my list and the models I need to complete it. So far I have 3 Nob Bikers down.

Preparing for Warhammer at Adepticon
The Warhammer Fantasy Championships is one of, if not THE largest Warhammer tournament in the US. It boasts 140 players and has a reputation of being a serious step up in competition for the average wargamer. Last year I scored 23 out of 140 players and expect to perform better this year, but to be able to do that I need to prepare. Hopefully this article will give you a look into Adepticon's tournament process and help you prepare for it as well as any other local tournament.

Necron Wraith Conversions
I picked up some Necrons a while back in a trade and finally got around to putting in work on them. There are a lot of conversions out there but none I really liked so I'm putting my hat in the ring of wraith conversions on the net.

What Motivates You to Paint
I have attended the last three Painting Nights at Evolution Games and during each, the topic of motivation came up and it seemed like everyone there had a different mindset on painting, spending time with their hobby and keeping up on getting their armies painted. Let's talk about what gets us painting and why.
