Old School here with another possible tervigon model. This disturbing thing is pretty impressive. Let's look at how she measures up:

A Great Alternative Dreadknight Miniature and more from Zealot Miniatures!

Old School here with a look at the M2 "lobster" Assault Droid from Zealot miniatures. This robot is clearly a great alternative for the ugly Dreadknight GW recently released and I think it has promise (with some conversion work) to serve as an Iron Warriors Defiler or maybe a Knight Titan stand in for Apoc games. Here are a few more pics and a little extra from the folks at Zealot:

Good bye to some of my best conversion models

So after months of sitting on one of my shelves on my paint desk I decided the salamanders dread and landraider needed a new home.

Taking stock and holding on....

As you all know, and as i hate to admit, it has been awhile since I have posted on the blog, a combination of inability to play much, combined with a new job that has me traveling from my home in Michigan to the area of Scranton, PA... have kept me busy to say the least.

However I was able to recently get a game in, and surprisingly not with my guard. Instead, using a list i had been messing around with once in a team game, I used my guard models to count as a Blood Angels list.

Night Lords Landraider Crusader

Quick post about the progress of my Night Lords.  Until something comes out that will let me run them as they should be without being a total crap army, I'm using them as counts as Blood Angels.  Here's their Land Raider, crucified marine as requested.  Enjoy!

Dark Eldar Sneek Peek Pic of Ur-Ghul and Medusae!

A quick sneek peek lifted from our friends at Eldar Addict! While the Archon retinue isn't the greatest unit in the world, these models are pretty awesome and fit very well into the existing Dark Eldar line.

New Fantasy/ Vampire Counts sneek peek = 40k possibilities! (pics)

Old School here to show off some pics from the upcoming Warhammer Fantasy releases. First up, it looks like there is another HUGE kit coming out, this time for the Vampire Counts. The pic above is one option for it, while the pic below is the zombie dragon.

Old School Terminator Comes Out of Hiding!

Old School here (it's been a while since I typed that) to say that I have returned from my self imposed break from the blog and officially return DFG to its regularly scheduled posting. What happened? Real life ... being an adult with a job sucks sometimes, but those are the breaks. Now that it is over, I am eager to hit our readers with the regular posts they signed up for in the first place. Thabks to CVinton for holding the fort and thank you to those of you who hung with us.

How to: Loose chain skulls!

So will my decent into the dark places (darker than usual for the grim darkness of the future) I needed some terrifying decorations for my chaos.  Hanging skulls always does the trick..I guess...so that's what I've been up to with my prepaint prep of the army.

With that, I wanted to share how I go about it because I do a little more than just gluing skulls to my guys all willy-nilly.  For this you'll need the things pictured above.

Night Lords Update.

Well...after a long, unannounced and unplanned hiatus I'm coming back.  I have nothing to say to excuse such a long time without update so I won't even try.  At best I can apologize to our readers; I'm sorry for casting aside your continued support over the years and walking away from the blog for the past few weeks.  Thank you for reading, commenting, and contributing to this community in the past, present and future.

SPOILER ALERT: Just as a fair warning, there are some book spoilers in the explanation of my progress.

Blood in the Sun tourney

I am back with Blood in the Sun with tales of triumph and pictures of the carnage that was my first 2 day GT. Over 50 players were at the event and when the dust settled I scored 3rd place on Battle points and 7th place in the Overall Standings. Lets take a look at how things went down.

Starting off Friday night, I decided to play a practice game with Jake Murphy who I met at Adepticon and frequently hit up on Twitter. Jake was playing his Brettonians and we decided to have a tune-up game and a few beers.

Happy 4th of July! Patriotic Space Marine Diorama!

Old School here and while I wish I could say this image was one of our Eternity of War pics, it isn't. It is simply an awesome image I found from a random google search, but I would like to credit the owner for making one hell of an awesome patriotic diaroma! Happy 4th of July to our American readers!

Congrats to Samsquamch Monster

My best friend tonight just asked his girlfriend to marry him tonight while we watched a band play at this years cornerstone. In fact the band paused their set and he did it on stage in front of hundreds of people. Embarrassed and crying his girlfriend said yes. So give them a hearty cheer, and some warm words.

Congrats guys, love you and I am very happy for you both.

Weekend Catch-all: Talo Update, Rhino WIP, and a Little Bit About Weathing/painting.

Hey everyone, three parts to this, part one Talos, part two rhino, and part three weathering.  Its a lot of thoughts in one article but I have been dragging my feet on a lot of things I've wanted to post about and just need to have a vomiting of information onto the blog moment.

Part One:

I got a lot of local feedback about Talos and they were all right; he wasn't done.  I was just really excited and happy with how he turned out and wanted to show him off a bit.  So here is the real finished Talos:

Forge World Releases Pre-Heresy Pattern Dreadnought!

I got out of work to discover that Forge World has brewed up another special dose of their resin Spanish Fly just in time for me to whip out my dollars! I have seen so many conversions of the Pre-Heresy pattern dreadnoughts and always thought there was something off about them, but I loved the artwork and always thought some company would make one someday ... and now Forge World has done it and have pulled it off much better than I concieved.

I like the fact that it looks like a terminator - Now it is clear where the term "Tactical Dreadnought Armour" came from. The model doesn't have a lot of chapter markings which is nice because people will want to add their own markings and design elements. Also, the model hold potential for making Daemon Primarchs (as a base model anyway), daemon Princes, better looking dreadknights ect. While we are at it, let's take a look at the weapons put out so far ...
