Announcement: Michigan GT

After years of dreaming, a few from our gaming group have decided to finally put on the Grand Tournament that we've been growing.  This year will be the first year that we're proud to bring a Michigan GT to Lansing.

Four guys, in a car, driving to a tournament in Saginaw was the final spur needed.  Our dream was to be reality. The Michigan GT was going to happen this year.  Our Oath of Moment was sworn!

This 1850 GT, being held Septemeber 28-29th, is brought to you by the hardwork of  Eric Samson, Jesse Zischke, Bill Kim, Jeff Crawley, TJ Atwell and Chris Vinton.  We're very excited to announce this today.  More information will come in the following weeks and months leading up. As of right now the most information will be found at the website, www.michigangt.com. Rules can be found here.

We are holding this at the Best Western hotel in Lansing MI.  We have a handful of blocked rooms so if you plan on coming from out of town there is a convention rate of $88.50/night for those room.  There will be one vendor booth as of right now from Flatland Games.

We look forward to seeing everyone there and plan to have this grow and expand in the coming years.  As of right now this will be strictly Warhammer 40k but are open to expanding the events in the future to include more game systems.  Stay tuned here and on the MIGT website for more information.

  1. Very interested to see how this will pan out. Not sure if you guys even know the schedule as of yet, but am interested to see if the 40k GT is on one day, or spread out over two.

  2. It appears that the GT will be over two days. If I had to make a guess it would be a 6 game event in order to ensure one true winner.

At any rate, I might have to check this one out!

  4. Maybe my first 40K tournament. I'll think about joining, and hopefully by then it won't be too late. :)

  5. It'll be a 2 day 6 round event with a win/loss format. Expect a good time, for sure.

BDS- I'm excited to hear you registered! Thanks for the support! We're working out the details but we really are trying to make this a much bigger event than a local tourney. We're shooting for something yearly.
