Combi-Melta Conversion Video by CVinton

Old School here posting this video for CVinton. In the video, he basically uses his dremel as a lathe. The first time I saw him do this, it really blew my mind, so I asked him to post this. We had some serious issues with Youtube, so the video is a little wide in the column, but I think you can get over it once you see it, I did. Feedback as always is welcome!

  4. Please, please if you're going to try this at home make sure you turn the dremel the other way up. What you see in this video is a good way to get an exacto blade embedded in your face.

There were times when I could barely watch, seeing how close the blade was to the collet. If it had caught on that... well I assume you wouldn't have posted the video so the fact it's up there is proof nothing bad happened. Still made me uncomfortable though!

Apart from that it's a really nice vid and a good technique. Can we get a high res photo of the finished product?

  5. Fluffy,

It totally has potential to be terrifying and end with a blood transfusion. After posting it I thought about maybe mentioning some disclaimer because I imagine 80% of the people that watched it turned the volume off because of how loud and annoying that dremel was. I did mention about the positioning of the blade and what would happen had you positioned it the wrong way.

When I was in high school I had a close call with a wood lathe that grabbed my chisel and threw (luckily) only about fifteen feet but still scared the bajesus out of me.

I'll get a good picture of the gun up...once I can find what I did with it....
