Old School here to let you know about the Dropzone Games Grand Opening that will be coming up this weekend! If you haven't already heard, the three days of mayhem will include two tournaments, a painting competition, Open games, seminars, demos and a final day filled with a great new game system DUST!
In case you haven't heard me gush about this place already, Dropzone is the best store I have ever been to and is a hobby Mecca for wargamers. Here's what they have going on:
The Guest of Honor, Man, Myth, Legend Andy Chambers will be featured during the Battle for Zverograd DUST event, which is probably going to be the largest game of DUST ever played (a 32' table) on Sunday.
There will be two tournaments Saturday for Kings of War and Flames of War respectfully.
Black Library writer Mike Lee will be available to meet folks and sign books between 1pm and 5pm Saturday.
The painting competition not to be outdone celebrity wise is slated to be judged by none other than Dave Taylor, Brien Dulaney and Rob Chandler. These fine gentlemen are the proud owners of not only Crystal Brush awards but also multiple Golden Demons.
Dave Taylor is also scheduled to host some hobby seminar action as well!
There will be game demos all three days and chances to win or purchase great resin models, t-shirts and Limited Edition models as well!
Our own Wolfson will be covering all three days and hope to see everyone in the area come out to make this event great and support a truly amazing store!
Speaking of coverage, if you are going to be there and you take photos or shoot some good video, please send it our way. We are also willing to post good battle reports from the DUST event as well, so send us your stuff and will will publish it here!
Cancel your weekend plans as you will not want to miss this!
For more information check out the Dropzone Games Fanpage or drop in at their store starting tomorrow September 7. Their address and phone number can be found here.
I might drop in on Saturday if the wife lets me make the trip! She said yes, but I would have to brave traffic in dc on Friday AND Sunday
