I finished the Thunder Wolves I plan on running today in the tournament at Titan's. I'm really torn this weekend between an effective Necrons list....and this silly list. The missions really make me an auto lose but I think its a rare opportunity that I would get to play this list and for people to play against this list.

I was really happy to get this done tonight so that tomorrow I can just focus on building my new necron models (and mailing out the contest winners swag!!) Tomorrow I'll be building spyder after spyder after spyder.....
But, without further delay, the skin wolf from the FW fantasy line. Forge World did a shitty job this year advertising that they had a new adepticon con model for both 40k and fantasy. I only knew because I asked "Do you guys have the con exclusive model (meaning the boarding marine) ?" and they asked "This year's or last year's?"
I picked up the flesh wolf because booze makes ok ideas even better. I also got two boarding marines and a decimator...yeah a decimator...just because I guess...
For Thunder Punch I'm using him as Canis. A pretty decent Canis if you ask me.
The model is cool, but I didn't give it as much time as it really needs and didn't separate the flesh tones enough to make it obvious what is happening on the model. However, for what I need him to do it'll be just fine.
And for a size comparison I wanted to include this picture. When the models first released that was one question I had so hopefully this will help anyone else thinking of using these as Thunder Wolves.
Its a pretty cool model except done in fine cast. I've never been someone to complain about fine cast but I honestly don't know why they'd ruin a good thing with bringing the quality of FW down I've never, ever, EVER had a problem with FW resin but fine cast is getting pretty old especially on models that have a lot of corners for bubbles to catch on.
I'll write a little post on how the Thunder Punch pans out. Table of Tie!
I really like the skin wolves. Definitely gonna pick some up for my beastmen.
ReplyDeleteThat model is AWESOME! and the paint job look sfine from here. Canis stats should work out well for him, and go well with the rest of the army (like boosting the wolves' stats). Cool force. Hope it eats the competition.
ReplyDeleteGood luck man. That army looks awesome and while the missions are against you for scoring points, you are still going to beat up your opponents pretty badly!
