It Came From the Forums Follow Up: Klausmasterflex Paints the Iron Hands!

It Came From the Forums has been going for more than a year and it has been (and will continue to be) an honor to run this series and to help recognize artists from the forums out here in the blogosphere. One thing I have never done, is go back and feature a former It Came From the Forums artist, but tonight, I intend to try it out by featuring what I would have to say is one of the best Space Marine armies floating around the web.

The army in question is Klausmasterflex's Iron Hands:
The photo above is his Vulcan He'Stan model and it is insane with all the bits and cogs and conversion work. When I saw this model (among many others) the first time, I came up with an idea to create It Came From the Forums (here is a link to that first post).

Next up is the Master of the Forge. This model is everything I want the tech marine kit to be and so much more. I don't know where to start complimenting ... so I will just pick up my jaw and move on ...

Hammernator squads are scary enough, but this is a take on them that makes them really look imposing. Ferrus Mannus would be proud!

A close up ...

I never would have thought of the Techmarine as a base for the libby, but when you make techmarines like his Master of the Forge, the libby seems to be just right!

Now here is where I lose my mind, just take a look at these dreads. I can't decide if I like the drill guy or the tentacle arm more!

Oh, and let's not forget the best dakka dreads ever!

We have seen enough crazy elites and HQs, how about the troops ... you guessed it, they are incredible. Take a close look at all the conversions in the next couple of photos, including the bionics and special backpacks on the special and heavy weapon guys.

Now let's round it out with some vehicle. These Vindis are great for two reasons; 1) they demonstrate the ability of a skilled conversion artist to save money an vindis by using the rhino chassis and a clever bits purchase! and 2) - They look great!

Finally, we wrap this post up with the land raider. The candles are a great touch, the weathering is perfect and the Multi-Melta conversion is inspiring.

So, if you want to see more of this great work, check out Klaus's showcase here. Also, I am interested in what you all think about follow ups in the It Came From the Forums series. I think it is cool every once and a while to check in on an artist. Don't worry, fresh It Came From the Forums posts are on their way!

  2. Yeah man, those are some sick conversions with great paint jobs to boot. Best themed army I have seen in a while.
