Tuesday Top 10 in Honor of From The Warp and the Community that began there!

As everyone knows, Ron has retired from From the Warp for all the right reasons. The FTW blog will remain a great hub to check out the blogs in the FTW network, though there will be no more updates. This leaves quite a few regular features we have come to love, homeless. I don't know if DFG will make this a permanant thing, but I figured we would roll one out in honor of the legend himself, Ron.
Here is to you, friend and here are to the blogs who are doing great work and inspiring the world of gamers all thanks to the community Ron built for us!

Here are ten posts you MUST see in no particular order:

Blood Angels Furioso by Cadaver - Awesome WIP with marble pattern

A Very Nice Swarmlord Commission from Munky

The Vanus Temple Shows off some incredible Best Painted armies from a recent tourney

A Dark Eldar Gladiator Diaroma from the Eye of Error - The base was done in a very clever way!

Mr Chaos presents the Khorne Expendables - I almost had to scrap all my Berzerkers when I saw this!

Bushido's Chapterhouse Studios Bike Seer - This is the first one of these conversions I have seen painted and honestly I didn't think much of the kit until I read this post.

The Duke done well by Daith!

Klaus has a Deathwatch Diaroma you have to see!

Ricalope has some serious Fire Prism paintjobs, check out the whole squadron!

... and a Legend Lives on at Ron's New Blog!

Family is important, more so than any amount of plastic men and their epic paintjobs. Ron left us with that lesson at FTW and he can still be found on his own, personal painting blog. Check it out and follow it, you won't be dissapointed.

My hats off to the fine artists linked above, now its time for me to hang out with the wife! Thanks again for everything you did at FTW, Ron. I would be interested if anyone out there also has ideas for the Top Ten or if perhaps anyone thinks DFG could take up the mantle (I wonder what Ryan plans as the Top Ten really was his invention).

  1. Wow! I am so happy that my dread is featured in the first Top 10 after these events in FTW. I think that the top 10 should definitely continue one way or another since I for one find it extremely helpful. I have found some really wonderful blogs in the past and even right now reading this post.

  2. Thanks for posting me on there :)

It's awesome that you picked up the mantle for this. I always looked forward to the Tuesday Top Ten.

I miss Ron's online presence already, but I'm following his new blog.

  3. w00t! :)

I still don't like those side things on the jetbike. I took them off and touched up the paint.

  5. Well folks, this is one of the things I will be discussing with my fellow authors on Wednesday. I know there are some very respectable bloggers out there (including Ryan himself) who are looking to fill the Top 10 gap and I do not want to take anything away from them. At the same time, I think we already do a lot of hobby exposure posts and have the audience and follow enough blogs between all the writers here to cover it. We will have to see what the group thinks and see what the other bloggers are doing as well. I am glad you like our Top Ten, but for now, I am happy just to see this be a tribute to FTW until the whole DFG team comes to a unanimous agreement.
