Yellow Necron Scythe: Sightings!

Old School here and with a local tourney coming up, I have decided to bring a fully painted Necron army. The list call for two scythes and since I had none of mine painted, the time had come to baste these croissants in delicious yellow paint! Let's take a look:

Basically, I let the shapes on the model pick where my paint would go and I just applied the same principles and techniques here as I have on the rest of the Yellow Necrons.

I also had a pretty sweet bit that I had been holding onto for some time that found its home here! Yes, we kill titans, Eldar, what's up? In all seriousness though, Once I get some time, I plan to search some cosmic serpent designs and freehand the head a little.

Overall, I am happy that the paint scheme translated to this size. I felt that the monolith pushed it to it's limit and I was worried about the fliers, but it worked out well.

With that said, I just have to touch up a second one of these and paint two douche canoes before Saturday (I have no idea why I saved HQ's for last). Honestly, I'm not too worried about the paint part. I really just want to bring a fully painted force, roll some dice and have some fun. If for some reason I can't get it all painted, I will just bring wraiths, spiders or something else I have that is already painted.

In any case, look out for some painted crons soon. Before the tourney I will also do a little showcase here with all of my painted crons, which should be fun since I have never placed them all in one place at the same time!

As always, let me know what you think!

  1. Very nice work on the ol' croissant of destruction! The blue spot color really contrasts well with the yellow and white.

  2. I'm really impressed with the palet as well. blue yellow and grey is just a weird mix.

You're crons have now caused me to look at mine and go back to make them a little more. I did so well stepping away from the parade deck with the space wolves and then bam, right back with the crons. Time for them to muddy up!
