Yellow Necron Barges: Big Guns Never, Ever Tire!

Old School here with another addition to my Yellow Necrons. These barges typically fill out my heavy support section (though I will be trying out the Doom Scythe and the Monolith now that I own them). Let's take a look at my entries for this week's painting challenge.

The idea behind these barges was simple for me. My command barges have little drivers in addition to the Overlord. These barges I wanted to make more like drones; perhaps one more thing that is controlled by the tomb spyder to guard the tomb worlds.

The paint scheme is pretty similar to how I paint my Necrons but on a larger scale. I also added some copperish items, like the spines on the barge and the weapon and also the tip of the under-slung gun. This was done using Tin Bits as a base, followed by Brass Scorpion and Runelord Brass.

I really love how the round jets turned out. I really can't wait to get back to North Carolina as well, so I can get a good, professional camera in my hands to take some good photos of all the yellow crons I have painted so far.

Here is a view of the chassis without the tesla destructor in. I like the balance between white and yellow in this paint scheme,

Well that is it for now. I will put up a video pretty soon showing how to paint basic troops in this scheme and how you could also accomplish this effect with other colors. More to come soon. Let me know what you think!

  1. While I have to admit that scheme does not match my personal tastes, it is excellently executed and they look very good.

That is some VERY impressive detail in there.

    Thanks for sharing!

  2. Very nice! The white against the yellow works well and I really dig the weathering.

    Keep up the great work!

  4. Thank you very much guys. I appreciate the feedback. These were my first Necron Vehicles painted in the army and I was honestly a little nervous about how they would come through. One of the things I love about this scheme on the crons is that people either love it or they don't - I love the reactions I get when they come out!
