My Lead Belchers, Three Fat Fellows!

Old School here, returned from a weekend at Wolfson's house, where we hit the workbench pretty furiously. Aside from getting in a couple games of Fantasy with the Ogres, we managed to get a lot of work done paint-wise and I wanted to get a quick post out there for my Ogre Kingdoms lead belchers. These three jolly fellows came out pretty well, I think. Let's take a look at them.

I mixed tin bitz with snake bite leather and used it for the brass cannons, which were then highlighted with dwarven brass. I then washed them with thinned down Hawk Turquoise. The blood is a mix of Baal red with a little red gore and chaos black. I kind of smeared it on, trying to make it look like they reached into the Giant Tribal Stew pot that they use to worship the Great Maw. I used gloss varnish to make the blood look wet.

The Ogre flesh was based Tallarn Flesh, washed heavily in Ogre flesh, then I painted everything except the recesses a 50/50 mix of Tallarn Flesh and Dwarven Flesh. Finally, I highlight the raised areas in Dwarven Flesh. The camera takes away some of the contrast, but it looks smooth and realistic as opposed to dramatic shadows, which I have seen before and disliked.

I just realized that I forgot to paint the stitching in the back! LOL! Oh well, good projects are never done! That's all the Ogres I have for you today, I have most of them in various stages of paint right now, so more will be on the way shortly!
