Nurgle Daemon Prince Update! Nearly Finished! Looking Awesome!

Well, I have been quite busy with this Daemon Prince lately. The sheer number of layers of wash and the time it takes to dry them combined with cleanup work and enhamcing small details ... and then adding more layers of various washed equals a very time consuming project, but the results so far are worth it.
.
The base is really only based for the most part with a light wash for now on the zombies and nurglings. My next step is to do some more detail work and then wash them again in either badab black or whatever color is appropriate for them. After that, I have a number of small details to work out on the Prince himself before I am 100 percent comfortable with him.
.
Overall, I am extremley happy with the project so far especially because I was so intimidated by taking on this paintjob in the begining. As always, your comments are welcome!

  2. Superb!! The greener portions of the armour are nicely counter balanced by the more purple and yellow accent colours -- good job!

  3. Thanks guys, I really put a lot into this model and I am glad to see that folks really like it. I think there is a lot that can be acheived with a good understanding of the washes and how they look layed atop one another and how the base color can be naturally highlighted and altered to when you understand the way it works with different color washes. If anything this model really boosted my knowledge in this department and took me from the thought process that washes were really just for saving time when painting, to a better idea of how they can add to more extensive projects.
With this model being so close to its final state, I have a better idea of how I will paint the Ultraforge Greater Plague Daemon. Thanks again for the great comments.
