We are adding a new feature here for Friday's at Dark Future Games, called the Artist of the Week! We will find a comprehensive collection of work from an artist and post a selection of his work on DFG and if you like it, we also have provided a link to where you can find more of their work! Our artists are not picked because their work is batter than some of the others, so no flaming! Remember, there are plenty of weeks in the calander and your favorite artist will also get their time to shine.
.
This week our artist is Silphid from Cool Mini or Not! You can find more of his work here: http://www.coolminiornot.com/browse/page/1/submitter/Silphid/orderby/Descending

I am a really big fan of the smooth transitions in the highlighting of his models and I really dig some of the subtle yet complex conversions in his minis. I also really like his attention to detail, such as the small Khorne runes on the bottom of the feet on a couple minis. If you can't see the photos, click them to make them bigger! Enjoy!
Amazing reds and NMM gold on those first few. Among all the other great things to love in those pieces. Wow. It'd be so great to be able to sit down for a painting session with some of these artists wouldn't it?
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely. Sitting down with one would yield some pretty useful trick, I would imagine!
ReplyDeleteHey guys! Thank you for the honor :) This is Silphid, aka Boltman, aka Vincent Hudon. I've had the chance to sit with a couple european artists through my progression and I can confirm seeing a painter in action makes all the difference in the world! Not that there is but one way to do things properly, but seeing various ways each tackles a painting challenge is a great way to develop your own style. That being said, I'Ve giv en a bunch of classes to groups of enthousiasts, so if youR'e really serious about a painting seminar, I'm up for it. I don't ask any payment per say for my time, but I do ask that my travelling costs be covered by your hobby group so I donT' incur a loss. If some of you guys are serious about making a painting class happen, drop me a line at my email, epsilonv@hotmail.com. Happy painting!
