20 Horrors of Tzeentch join the Horde! Flesh, Beaks, Flames and Feathers!

TJ here with an update to my army. I recently painted a ton of troops that I won at a recent tournament, including 20 Horrors of Tzeentch. I hesitate to call them pink because, well, I didn't go there. Anyway, let's take a look.

These horrors will be the subject of a tutorial that I have coming up in the next week or so, so I won't go into depth on the methods, but I will say I only spent about 2 hours per 10 models if you break up the time (I painted 40 models together).

The models themselves are like many others that the Internet craps on ... in that they actually are very nice in person. There are tons of little details and different textures on these models, from metal to smooth skin, teeth, flames, feathers and claws, they really offer a lot to a painter.

Haha, I almost forgot that there are a few with upside down heads. I did it on purpose and scraped away the eyes. They remind me of the Iz from the old Maxx comics when I made those few like that.

Here is a batch with flames.

and a bathc with feather that I made using the new glazes and shades.

Whenever I see them all together, I imagine there are a lot of high fives going around.

The different texture I mentioned actually lent a lot to the final paint job as it really decided where the colors would go even more so than I did.

I am also a big fan of the dynamic poses, the only thing I miss with these new models is the old blue horrors coming out of the mouths like we saw in the last models that were out. I'm not going to cry about it though because they were impossible to keep glued together.

I have grown into this method of painting flesh as well and it will continue to be my go-to method for corrupt flesh.

Overall, I look forward to fielding these bad boys soon and in NC, there are tons of tourneys to do so.

Well, that's it for now. I would love to hear what you think and for those of you with Daemons or other fleshy models on your shelf unpainted, I will have a tut coming to show how I painted these.
