DropZone Games Birthday Celebration

Hello everyone Chuck here,  I have officially moved back to Maryland and that means back to dropzone games in Glen Burnie MD and just in time for their birthday celebration.  It is hard to believe its already been a year and DropZone Celebrated with a bang.  Andy Chambers,  Colonial Marines, Storm Troopers, a Tusken Jedi Raider and Boba Fett joined us for the three day celebration.  Lets Take a Look!

DropZone Games. You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy........

The store was packed all three days of the event as Tom's Face above can attest.  Check out the awesome anniversary shirts hanging above!
Open gaming was underway non stop with people playing everything from X-Wing to Bolt Action.
The painting stations were also completely filled at different points in the day with some people even working on last minute entries for the painting competition.
Boba Fett and a Storm Trooper faced off in some games of X-Wing one our light up table to hone their space combat skills along with one of the Colonial Marines.

The weekend hosted 2 Warmachine tournaments with the grand prize being a trophy worthy of a champion.  A title belt made by Alex Landing from Iron Heart Artisans.  Alex made all of the weekends plaques and trophies and are of the highest quality I have ever seen from custom work.  The belt plates are all custom etched brass and the plaques are custom cut acrylic.  Iron Heart Artisans is a third party producer of all things you could need as a gamer and I will be featuring some of his products as we flesh out his website with all of his amazing products.

Even with all of the events going we still had extra space for more open gaming as DropZone has expanded its space since its launch last year.  These back rooms saw a slew of Warhammer 40k and Fantasy Players later on in the evenings.
DropZone hosted another painting competition and the entries were just plain amazing.  We had Golden Demon/Crystal Brush quality entries across multiple categories and my photos really do not do them justice.  One of the judges was once again Rob Chandler a multiple Crystal Brush winner.  I would like to thank everyone who participated for their amazing entries and a second congratulations to the winners as the competition was very stiff!

Pictures of some of our winners below!
For a list of Winners and better pictures of the models keep an eye out on DropZone Games

I would finally like to thank everyone involved with making this event happen and making such an amazing store a reality.

See you next time!
-Chuck

  1. Great coverage. God I wish I could be there for this kind of stuff. Still super jealous of this store and that you can go there to rub elbows with its scum and villiany.
