TJ here with a huge wave of Mantic Zombies I am using in my Chaos army and when I run my Chaos and Necron allies for recent tournaments. These Mantic Zombies really lend themselves to being painted well and I really like the way the came . I also have a few with GW parts and a couple of Crypt ls bashed into Mantic Zombie legs. Lets take a look at a few more photos.
Aside from the fact that i like yellow, I actually chose it for a couple of reasons. First, I run about four different squads of zombies, one of 30 and a couple 10 mans and they get confusing to my opponents, so this is yellow squad. There other reason is because I like to run Necrons as Allies pretty often at tournaments and ties into my yellow crons very well.
When it comes to zombies at 28mm, i really think Mantic is where it is at. These are easily the best zombie models i have ever seen in person and really blow away GW and wargames factory zombies in my opinion.
The flesh was painted using a really light method of my corrupted flesh tutorial and when i can link it through this article i will. The yellow is Tausept Ochre base, washed sepia, then highlighted Tausept Ochre and then highlighted Iyanden Darksun.
Overall, i plan to add some more crypt ghouls zombies, dead guard guys and more Mantic zombies to the mix, but so far, i am loving these Mantic ones. I am working on another zombie related project may just unveil it in the next post, so stick around!
