Tournament Announcement: 1700 point Renaissance Clash at Fortress Comics and Games! --Only 4 spots left!!--

A new face to DFG will be hosting a tournament at Fortress Comics and Games on April 23rd. Hornblower wants to welcome any of the DFG readers to his 1700 Renaissance Clash. This tournament is very appropriately named, check out the flyer.

For the regular followers, this is pretty funny to follow our big discussion about comp scores a week or so back. For those supporters, this is the mecca of comp scored tournaments including painting, sportsmanship, and army composition. Its the trifecta, its the only way to find out if you truly are a 40k Renaissance Man.

Heres a link to the 40k Fight Club for any questions.

  1. Thanks for posting this guys. The hilarious part about the whole thing is just as I had finished writing up the rules for the event, I came on here and you had just posted the soft score thread.

I'm really looking forward to this event and I'm confident it's going to be a great time. Keep in mind that all aspects of the game are judged separately, so if you're really good at one aspect of the hobby, you have a solid chance to win tops in that aspect. The best all around will take home the to prize.

    Hope to see you there!

  2. Wow, I really didn't think my "optimized for Adepticon" list would win any comp awards, but I think I end up with a net +10. -15 for wanting to play IG, -5 for having 2 of the same choice (Vendettas), +30 for having at least 2 of every slot (I assume this does not stack with the +10 for having 1 of each slot). I'd have to cut 150 points of the list to fit the size, but since my Inquisitor lord will be illegal by then, switching him for a Primaris Psyker is easy.

  3. I'm going to try to make this one, I'll lose on painting and comp but maybe I can take battlepoints =)

  4. I think it would be a challenge to attend this tournament to win given that most folks would have to make some changes to their lists and really wrap their head around the comp.

Aside, the opponents you would run against would have very non-standard armies compared to what you normally face during tourney or harder pick-up games, so it is going to be very interesting and I am going to try to go if work doesn't get in the way.

  6. There are only 4 spots available for the Renaissance Clash this Saturday.

All of the other spots are already paid for, so it's unlikely that there will be no shows.

If you are interested in getting one of these last few spots, call and reserve your spot now!

Call The Fortress Comics and Games and tell them you want to sign up.

    Thanks and see you Saturday!

  8. My daughter's Birthday is that day, so it's out for me too or else the nids would dine on comp madness ... It's too bad, I have been meaning to play with the guys at the Fortress for a while, just to get to know the crosstown folks a little better.
