The Adepticon Aftermath and Schaumburg Prime Offensive Results!

Greetings all.  SeerK here with the results of The first Schaumburg Prime Offensive at Adepticon.  The North American Firestorm Armada Champion was crowned and much fun was had by all.  I apoligize for the lack of updates as I had computer problems this past weekend.  I was forced to resort to the blogger app and it is not as good as the normal interface. Technical difficulties have been taken care of.  We had 26 sign up for the Offensive and 24 players started the Tournament.  We had 2 drops after round 3.  After the guns were silenced and the Kurak defenses were swept aside.  The Zenian League lead by the Nefarious Works Raptor won the day.
It was a great field and every race except the Aquans were represented, I know weird right? No Aquans. But I am sure you want to know the results. Without further adieu the winners

Congrats to the winners and I want to thank Adepticon and our Sponsors for all the support.  Evolution Games, Spartan Games, Ironheart Artisans, Adepticon and Firebase Delta all threw in to make the tournament a great success.  We will be back again next year bigger and better.  We learned quite a bit in this inaugural year and the new knowledge will be put to good use.

It was nice meeting all the players interested in the games while running demos the days before the tournament.  Sadly due to a family emergency we had to cut our trip short and leave much sooner than anticipated on Sunday.  We also got a couple community celebrities int the hobby.  I am looking forward to Carl of the Independent Characters Podcast talking about his newly Purchased Sorylian fleet.  It was also fantastic kicking back a few drinks with Jon aka "Commissar Random" of the Overlords Podcast.  Sadly I did not have a chance to give Teri Litorco an intro to Planetfall.  I promise I will make it up to you ma'am!

It was very nice getting to meet Phil, Robert and Bryan from Firebase Delta.  All three played in the
tournament.  It was also great meeting Nathan and Lange of The Jaded Gamercast.  They both played as well and were stand up guys. I think they were actually taller than me too.  I didn't expect that.  They did talk a little smack in the weeks leading up to the tournament when they were on Firebase Delta Podcast and Lange had stated he would not loose his Dreadnought and Clean house with his Omnidyne, Lange did loose loose his Dreadnought once. The Foundry finally fell and was a very close contender for top painted. Team Alberta did place in the top 3 as well, Thanks to John Wongs Ryushi,  so they have a pretty strong game and what sounds like a great community up north.

We are looking forward to next year and bringing you a bigger and better event.  We are also looking to expand to a second event.  Also stay tuned as we are going to be doing a big event this fall.  Its in its infancy so stay tuned.  I can't reveal any details as of yet.  That is all for now.  Once I sort through all the pictures we will do a big picture post later this week.  Dreadbeard will also have some tips for players about how to survive a long tournament day over at The WayGate for those thinking about attending next year.

Until next time crush the Alliance and as always....

REMEMBER DRAMOS!!!!!!

  1. I am so fucking proud of you guys as somebody who got to peek behind the scenes and just talk shop with you as you built this from nothing, man. Congrats Josh, Neil, George, Dave, and the whole crew. That is absolutely phenomenal and I have already been seeing some great reviews as I have been stalking your event on the internet. I just wish I could have been there and hopefully they play FSA where I am moving because I certainly would like to get into it just based on the excitement you all have generated. Thanks again, Josh, for keeping up the Adepticon coverage despite your insane schedule and I miss all of you guys. Tell the gang I said hi and that I wish I could have shown them my new watch in person ;-)
